Between 25th August and 2nd September, Gorky Park held a major festival to mark its 90-year anniversary.
The festival kicked off on 25th August with a multimedia show on the Golitsynsky Pond, which focused on the history of the park from its inauguration in 1928 to the present day. Overall, more than 150 events awaited guests during the festival. There were various lectures, theatrical shows, performances, and master classes divided into different areas of life at the park, grouped together into thematic days.
And on the first Sunday of September, there was a live concert on the big stage at the fountain on the central square. Participants included Swedish singer Neneh Cherry (throughout her career she had only performed one concert in Moscow), Luna, On-The-Go, and the festival’s closing ceremony featured the one and only Baba Yaga! She had sincere conversations with guests, congratulated everyone and performed a vibrant dance. To mark the celebrations, the babushka even swapped her preferred mode of transport for a while, her gyromortar for a skateboard.
